I have tried it several times in several locations(including in 2 different fields away from anywhere). All i see when I enter the calibration is the dot, but no matter what I do the dot does not move. Please advise.
i did not like the compass function in the cobra 3 at all You cant set a heading. i use my cobra 3 to monitor my air, do safety stops, see my depth, etc. i bought a suunto external compass that operates external to my cobra 3 dive computer. it clips on a d-ring on my bcd with a retractable line. Its there when i need it. Food for thought.
The Suunto Mosquito dive computer is unfortunately too old to have the feature were you attach it to a computer and transfer data. The Cobra3 should work. Please contact us at suunto.com/Support so we can help you further in this matter.
DM5 came out evidently this week. Better than DM4 but not the answer to your prayers. It does have a downloadable manual that says almost nothing useful. Still no way to edit the TAGS list if you want to delete a tag from the pull down menus or correct a typo or misspelling. Still it is better than it was. More options for Exporting (thanks SUUNTO that help) but still not perfect.
Short answer is apparently never. SUUNTO has received numerous complaints about the software going back to the original. DM 2 which was better than DM4 had its problems but had gotten better. DM4 which requires you to participate in movescount (which I do not want to do. I don't want to upload my dives to public forum as I often make notes in my dive profile about students and what we accomplished, or need to improve.). Yet nothing has changed. Look to 3rd party software to have a working program.
How do you use the USB cord. I bought one from you.
My computer has 2 prongs & the USB cord I bought has 3. Also, I would have to remove the housing to actually get it to fit. Before I try to use it please let me know how to or correct USB cord to purchase!
Please uninstall DM4 software, also uninstall all Suunto related drivers (e.g. Suunto USB driver, Suunto Serial, Windows Driver Package Suunto). Please make sure that your dive computer is not connected to the PC. After you have uninstalled the software and drivers please restart your computer. Then install DM4 from the link below: http://www.movescount.com/applications/DM4 Then install the Moveslink software: http://www.movescount.com/applications/moveslink/Suunto_Quest When you install the Moveslink software you should see small 'M' in the bottom left corner the computer’s screen. Please click on this sigh with the right button of the mouse and uncheck the 'Start Moveslink Automatically'. Then quit the Moveslink and make sure it is not running. Please make sure when you uninstall the software, restart the computer and install the software again that your dive computer is not connected to the computer. After the procedure described above is fulfilled you can connect your Cobra2 to the computer.
If the calibration fails several times in a row, it is possible that you are in an area with sources of magnetism, such as large metal objects, power lines or electric appliances. Move to another location and try to calibrate the compass again.
