Check if you see a padlock icon on the Ambit display meaning its keys are locked. If this is the case, you can unlock the keys by long-pressing the light button. Check also the backlight setting. If the "toggle" option is selected, the backlight stays on until the light button is short-pressed the next time.

Unfortunately you can store only one Bike POD calibration in the Suunto Ambit at once. You can input the wheel size on your computer in Movescount by clicking on Private, Gear, Suunto Ambit, General Settings.

For this, you will need to set your account to be "publick" and leave the automatic feed for Facebook disabled. You can then publish individual moves by clicking the Facebook icon under " Share this move" for each of them.

Question

Automatic FootPod Calibration

If Footpod is used for Speed and Distance Calculation and GPS is on, is there an automatic Distance keeping read from GPS Distance that will adjust the calibration factor?
Or do we have to calibrate the Footpod first, by running a known distance, to get correct values?

The Foot POD MIni cannot be calibrated from the GPS. The calibration can be done by running or walking a known distance and afterwards adjusting the distance in the exercise summary.

Question

Ambit goes into sleepmode when wearing it

After the latest update my Ambit goes into sleepmode when wearing the watch. I need to press one of the buttons to wake it up (yes, the battery is 100% charged).
Before the update it was enough that you picked up the watch for it to wake up and it would never go into sleepmode while wearing it.

We would recommend you to force the firmware update by right clicking on the Moveslink2 M-symbol on your toolbar while the Ambit is connected to your computer. The firmware update should correct the error.

The smallest Suunto watches are the HR monitors, the M-series and the Quest. The display diameter in these models is 42 mm. The HR monitors are also the lightest of our watches, the straps can be worn also in a childs wrist.

The right tool to tighten the Ambit strap screws is a torx driver size T6. The strap should be firmly attached to the watch casing, the screws can be tighten up to the point where the strap doesn´t move at all.

Question

move was uploaded to movescount but is too long

Hi I did some running (the move is correct at 1h6m) and when I uploaded the move, movescount has put a timescale of over 6000 minutes on the graphs - it looks like around 6100 minutes, so my stats are not possible to see as the useful graphing is all compressed on the left hand side. Can you fix this ?

Please force the firmware update once again which will hopefully resolve the issue. You can find the firmware update command by right-clicking the Moveslink icon in the task bar (Windows) / the menu bar ( Mac). If the problem remains unsolved, then unfortunately your Ambit will need to be returned to us for examination. You can do this by filling out a service request from here:

You can manually input the coordinates directly to the watch as well as upload them from the Movescount software. Please see the Ambit 2.0 user manual ( http://ns.suunto.com/Manuals/Ambit/Userguides/Suunto_Ambit_UserGuide_EN.pdf ) , page 32 for the instruction on how to manually enter the coordicates from the watch.

Question

Several interval sessions in the same move?

Happy to see a first version of an interval training functionality in the latest Ambit software release - One question though?
Can we do several interval sessions in the same move?

Meaning, if I want to do warm-up, then 10x[30"/30"] (30" fast, 30" recovery) then cool down and then once more 10x[30"/30"] and then final cool down - I'd set the interval timers to 10 repetitions of 30" high and 30" low and the question is can I use it twice in the same move?

Thank you

It is possible to start the interval timer twice in the same Move without interrupting the recording. When you want to start the first interval session, you should start the exercise normally by choosing the sport mode wanted. After this, long press the Next button and activate the interval timer. By long pressing the Next button you can deactivate the timer and activate it again by the same manner when wanted.

Question

Objective for interval training?

Happy to see interval training capability in the latest Ambit software
Question - In a future version, do you plan to offer the possibility to set an objective for intervals?
For example, let's say I want to do 10x[30"/30"] (30" fast, 30" slow), and the request would be to set a Heart Rate objective or a speed/pace objective for each interval, like 150bpm for fast 30" or 6'/km for slow intervals.
Another example, let's say I want to do 5x1000m with 3' recovery between each - the objective would be something like 4'/km for the 1000m's and HR below 125 for recovery...

Thank you

We would recommend you to perform a forced firmware update to the Ambit. This can be done from Moveslink2, after the Ambit is connected to the computer you should right click on the M-symbol on your toolbar. This way the software will be ran again to the watch and the problem should solve.

Question

Auto Lap in Summary

I'm guessing the numbers that kept popping up on the watch were laps in running exercise. I have the settings on Movescount to auto lap every mile. I completed almost 21 miles, yet I have 33-34 splits. How is this possible? Wouldn't there be 21 for 21 miles? How can I correct this?

What is the memory log capacity with GPS and Altimeter on, but not HR?

What is the memory log capacity with GPS and Altimeter on , but not the HR belt. It looks like the Ambit will continue to record while it is charging, so I just need to know when it will start to overwrite itself on the circular memory log.

The Suunto Ambit memory capacity is more or less the same as the Ambit battery duration, it mostly depends on the GPS. If you choose 1 second fix to the GPS the memory capacity is 15 hours, with the 60 second GPS fix the memory capacity is 50 hours. It doesn´t make a great difference in the memory capacity whether you have the altimeter or the HR recording on.
