Unfortunately not. The Ambit3 uses BlueTooth Smart frequencies to transmit data, whereas the Foot POD Mini uses ANT+. As such, they are not compatible with each other.

Hello, I just use foot pod mini to give me the rate per minute of Canoe paddle stroke, (I placed it on my wrist with a strap, and the watch was attached to the canoe).
I am very disappointed with the result, the pace often stop, my average speed is false 3.3 km / h instead of 9 visibly pod does not match the sport.
could you tell me which accessory to buy for my pace.

The Foot POD Mini is intended for running activities. Suunto does not currently offer a POD for paddling stroke detection. The Ambit2 watches support ANT+, however, perhaps you could find an other manufacturer device with this functionality that supports ANT+. Ambit3 has the same option for Bluetooth Smart. It might be that one of our users has even created an application for this, try the AppZone in Movescount.

Question

Can I use One Foot Pod with both QUEST and M5?

Hi. Is there any limit as to the number of Suunto heart rate monitors that can be paired with a single foot pod mini?

I bought a Suunto Quest Running Pack close to two years ago and I've been using my Quest with the foot pod mini without any issues at all since.

Recently, I bought a Suunto M5. I tried pairing my M5 with the foot pod from my Quest running pack, but it just won't pair. It always says "POD not found!" when I try to pair it. But the said foot pod still works perfectly with my Quest.

According to my knowledge, you can use one foot pod with several devices.

To try again, try to follow these steps:
1.Remove the battery.
2.Re-insert the battery upside down to reset the Foot Pod and remove the battery again.
3.Scroll to the M5's pairing option
4.Insert the battery in the Foot Pod the right side up

Question

Using the Foot Pod in a Pool

I run in a swimming pool and am looking for a waterproof foot pod. I noticed that the Foot Pod Mini is water resistant, however, could it withstand being submerged for long periods of time (an hour plus) on a daily basis? Also, can it transmit data to a Suunto watch through about 3 ft of water? Thanks.

The accelerometer measures acceleration and movement on a 3D axis, ultimately giving you distance and pace information. This is similar to how your phone understands when you tilt it from portrait to landscape mode, or when you play games by moving it.

Question

Unable to see foot pod on AMBIT 2S

I created a treadmill workout for my device on Movescount and checked the box for foot pod and for HR. Sync'd my watch and the Treadmill work out shows in the list of exercises but the footpod does not show up when I select the work out. The HR monitor pairing does though. Has anyone else encountered this?

Question

AMBIT1 GPS vs Mini Foot Pod Priority

I am abit confused:
Reading Q&A ath this forum i acknowledge that in
AMBIT1 GPS data overwrite foot pod data and in
AMBIT2 foot pod data overwrite GPS data.
Do i get it wrong?
In addition i want to ask the following:
a)Is there any mode in ABIT1 that i get the route but data are taken from foot pod (ex using GPS data in the mode of 60sec?)
b)If i run and loose GPS data for 2 min foot pod data are recorded?
Thanks in advance

GPS data will always be considered primary.
But when you loose GPS signal, the food pod will keep calculating and hence make sure the calculations on your entire exercise are more accurate.

Question

i am using a suunto quest & bot another foot pod. once i pair the 2nd one, the other one is not working with msg "pod not found, turn on the pod".

the purpose is for convenience. i do not need to remove one pod and put it into another pair shoes but it does not seemed to work. Once paired, the other pod cannot function with message "pod not found" and "turn on pod" which has already been paired before. Does it mean 1 watch & heartrate belt can only be paired with 1 foot pod? Pls advise. thks.

The Suunto Foot POD Mini measures speed and distance and it is compatible with the Suunto Ambit2.

To calibrate foot POD with Suunto Ambit2 :
1. Attach foot POD to your shoe. For more information, see user
guide for the foot POD you are using.
2. Choose a sport mode (for example Running) in the start menu.
3. Start running at your usual pace. When you cross the starting
line, press [Start Stop] to start the recording.
4. Run a distance of 800–1000 meters (about 0.500–0.700 miles) at
your usual pace (for example two laps on a 400 meter track).
5. Press [Start Stop] when you reach the finish line to pause the
recording.
6. Press [Back Lap] to stop recording. After stopping the exercise,
save the log by pressing [Start Stop]. If you do not want to save
the log, press [Light Lock].
Scroll with [Next] through summary views, until you reach the
distance summary. Adjust the distance shown on the display to
the actual distance you ran with [Start Stop] and [Light Lock].
Confirm with [Next].
7. Confirm the POD calibration by pressing [Start Stop]. Your foot
POD has now been calibrated.

connect ambit with bontrager cadence sensor

I did add the cadence sensor logging. The ambit does not find the signal of the bontrager cadence sensor (ant+ compatible). It does not even search for it, as with the heart rate monitor. What do I need to do?

Question

GPS ou Foot pod priority on AMBIT2?

I red different answers from people who sign "from Suunto" (Marta_from_SuuntoRomania for exemple or Diana_from_Suunto):
some say GPS has got the priority, when others say the contrary.
Where is the truth?
Does AMBIT 2 mix information (like fusespeed) from GPS and Foot Pod?
Is it usefull tu use Foot Pod when GPS signal is good (countryside)?
And when GPS signal is sometime lost (not always) (cities)?
Thank you for your answer.

At the current moment the Foot POD data will overwrite the GPS distance. There has not been any announcement made regarding changing the priority or mixing the two. Without the GPS there will not be a map on your Movescount, but it would save your battery a lot. The Ambit2 comes with FusedSpeed and this means the combination of the accelerometer and GPS, hence the Foot Pod might not even be necessary when the GPS signal is lost as the accelerometer will take over for that time.

Question

What is the real advantage to use the foot mini pod when you run with the Ambit2 in the exterior?

I have tried and in 12km run the watch make and difference to the iphone gps of 600m (more on the watch than in the iphone).
Now i understand that you need to calibrate the pod and if you have the pod, the distance and the speed will be measure by the pod.
My question is what is more precise, the mini pod or the gps of the watch?

Actually the GPS in the watch is really accurate. To make sure it is working the best way you need to connect your watch to Moveslink2 two times per week to get new satellite data to the watch. That helps the watch to work the most accurate way. Also you can check that you have your Movescount GPS settings as best:
www.movescount.com, gear, select your device, select edit from the sportmode you want to edit, check settings of GPS accuracy and recording interval.
