Question

Will this fit into my old suunto console that held my suunto companion?

If I remove the wrist strap from the computer, will I be able to use it in my console. My old companion is about 1" thick and 2.5" diameter. The retailer said that it would, but the zoop looks a lot thinner than 1".

The memory of a diving computer cannot unfortunately be reset as this is a circle memory.
The diving computer will start automatically overwriting the oldest dives when the memory capacity is exceeded. The maximum depth in the history memory can be zeroed but this can be done only in the Dive Manager software.

Question

How do I keep the current dive going through a short surface interfval?

I'm an instructor and frequently surface with students for ascent skills as well as problem management. sometimes there is a discussion that occurs and it can be 5-10 minutes before descent. I have another computer that allows me to specify a minimum surface interval before the dive is terminated and a new dive begins. Zoop is new to me. I have 18 entries in DM 4 for what were really 9 dives. Looks like it resets after 5 minutes. I can see all my ascents for CESA's on one dive since I went right back down.

This is the no-decompression limits displayed by the dive computer for the first dive to a single depth. They are slightly more conservative than those permitted by the U.S. Navy tables.

Downloading DM4

I install the setup.exe file from the approved Suunto site, however when I try to install the program it gives me the error "Unable to install or run the application. The application requires that assembly mono.cairo version 2.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) first. Please contact your system administrator." How do install DM4 so that I can log my dives electronically from my Zoop??

If you do not use the Zoop for approximately 2 hours then the display should automatically turn off (as a battery saving feature).

If this does not happen, we recommend you to contact a local Suunto dive dealer for further investigation.

how can I switch my Zoop back to dive mode?

2-3 years ago I bought my zoop and until now I did about 650 dives with it. since last week it does not go into dive mode when I go diving. i can browse through the entire menu during my dive and it doesn't register my dives.
what can i do to restore the old settings? is there a reset button?
I am an instructor and need my computer to do my job. how can i fix this?

The Vyper Air is a bit thicker and larger than Zoop so unfortunately it can't fit in a Zoop console.

The only way to do this in DM4 is to add a tag for each dive (for example with your name for your dives and your wife's name for hers) and then select to view the dives by tags.

When the Zoop is connected to your home computer and the program Movescount is loaded and waiting, nothing will happen because the Zoop needs to be put in a mode where it will talk to the home computer. So open your Zoop user's manual or find it online here:
http://ns.suunto.com/Manuals/Zoop/Userguides/Suunto_Zoop_UserGuide_EN.pdf

At the bottom of page 67 is section:
4.1.3. Data Transfer and PC-Interface [3 PC-SET]

The first sentence on page 68 tells the story:
To enter the Data Transfer select MODE- 1 MEMORY- 3 PC - SET (Fig.4.14)

Once you enter the PC SET mode the Zoop will speak to your home computer and the Movescount program and upload your dive information. Also I believe your dive information is also uploaded to Movescount in the cloud so you can never lose this information.

Zoop have a circular memory, meaning that once the memory is full the oldest dives will be overwritten. The amount of dives you can store in the dive computer depends on which sample rate (the frequency at which data is stored) you have chosen. It will keep track of all total dives that you have done so that's why it says that you have 24, but you can only see 19.
