Question

my watch appears to be dead after only a month of use, is this possible?

I've only owned the watch for about a month and have taken very good care of it during that time, I took it off before going to bed and in the morning found it completely dead. Is it possible it needs a new battery after only a month?

It sounds like the battery is defective, please try removing the battery for 30 seconds then insert a fresh one.

If this does not resolve the issue try resetting your Core by pressing all 4 corner buttons for 3 seconds when in TIME mode. Reactivate the Core by pressing the middle right button for 3 seconds.

Question

Suunto Core daylight Savings for sunrise and sunset times is wrong

I live in Melbourne, Australia. Today (25 mar) my Suunto Core changed sunrise\sunset times by 1 hr automatically. However, Daylight savings doesn't change back here for one more week. (1 Apr) Is there a way to update this? Or change daylight savings condition manually? Or will my watch be out by one hour for two weeks every year?

I'm at known elevation and have the right air pressure from few websites, but there is a discrepancy in alt/bar in my Suunto. If I adjust the elevation-hPa moves off, if I adjust hPa-elevation moves off. How can I set up hPa and elevation at same time?

If you're at the right elevation, it's probably just a certain air system in your area that's causing a discrepancy. Low Pressure systems will make you appear higher than you actually area, while high pressure systems will lower your elevation. I would recommend setting the elevation if you absolutely sure of the source, since weather is always subject to change.

The Suunto Core constantly measures absolute air pressure. Based on this measurement and reference values, it calculates altitude or sea level air pressure.

To get the correct altitude readings, you need to enter the sea level air pressure reference value. The sea level air pressure reference value relevant to your location can be found in the weather section of the local newspaper or on the websites of national weather services.

Question

Does all Core models have a outer bezel ring?

It is hard to figure out if all the Core models have the "adjustable" bezel. In the manual it suggest using this for example as a traditional compass, but in the pictures i looks like the alpine edition among others do not have this feature.

Some Core models have a rotating bezel and others do not. The Alpine edition and all 'Extreme' editions do not have a rotating bezel.

All versions of the Core have a 'bearing tracking' feature built in to the electronic compass, meaning that it is not necessary to use the bezel to record a heading.

In cases where the required city is not in the list then you should choose a different city whose sunrise/sunset times most closely match those of your city. This is normally a city which is located on the same or similar longitude.
