Hello, this is not the solution. The min display before indication "set" is 801 m and if i press left bottom button twice at the "set position" to reduce more, has no function. Display "set" is really the final end at 801 m.

It is possible that the pressure sensor of the watch needs to be calibrated.
You can calibrate the pressure sensor with the following instructions:
1. press and hold the upper left and upper right buttons in time mode until 'set' is displayed
2. press the upper left button once
3. press and hold the upper left button
Now change the SNR value :
4. press and hold the lower left button until you see 'DEF', then release the button and press and hold it again - if the number continues to fall then hold the button until you see 'DEF'
5. press and hold the lower right button until you see 'DEF', then release the button and press it once
6. press the upper right button twice - the watch is now set to the default value.

The cause could also be changing barometric pressure. Mine changed 135m overnight as a low pressure system moved in. Note: if you have a Vector you shouldn't be staying in one place anyway!!

Dear friend,
I have experienced the same problem with the same button (MODE Button) also together with + Button. (These are right hand side buttons) (Left hand side buttons are SELECT Button and - Button)
I was having the dissapearing screen problem when MODE or + Button pressed.
I have talked to a couple of local watch shops and they told me that this was due to water or humidity ingress into the watch which could be most probably through the battery slot. This could happen as they told me because of improper closure of the battery cover after the battery replacement.
When battery cover is opened for replacement, care should be taken to properly place the o-ring back before closing the cover.
This is also mentioned in the user's guide section 1.7.1 Battery Replacement.
................
7. ensure that the o-ring is in its place to keep the Wristop Computer waterproof.
Note: Battery replacement should be performed with extreme care so as to ensure the Wristop Computer continues to remain waterproof. It .It is the operatorís responsibility to take due care to ensure that the Wristop Computer remains waterproof.
...............
I had this experience and now pay extra attention when replacing the battery. Unfortunately I had the battery replaced at the local shop and probably the o-ring was damaged at that time.
I strongly recommend you to replace the o-ring and before that remove the cover and battery and let the watch dry for some time.

Question

barometer

I want to clarify regarding the BAROMETER DATA indicated in the manual.

On the manual (page 41/ 6.4.2 Does the wristop computer show future trends in weather condition?)-- the question answered NO & only displays general barometric trends in weather based on the 3-6hour accumulated data

While on page 32/ 4.4 Barometric Trend Indicator--it is stated on the 2nd sentence of the first paragraph that--the feature provides a continual quick reference TO ANALYZE UPCOMING WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Question: Can I rely on the vector to predict upcoming weather conditions like say today? or after a few hours?

The Vector displays the past 6 hours of barometric trend information which can be used to predict possible future weather trends but it cannot predict or forecast the weather.

If, for example the pressure has been continuously rising for the past few hours then this generally means that the weather has been getting better, and in many cases you can assume that it will continue to do so for at least the next few hours.

Similarly, if the pressure has been continuously dropping then the weather has been getting worse and may continue to do so which means you can be aware that it may rain or a storm may be moving into the area.

It's the same thing as with the home weather stations. You can kind of extrapolate the vector, however, it will never give you any certainty, especially when the weather conditions change suddenly.

On the other hand, the shorter period you want to "guess" the weather for, the better the chance, of course.

There is a barometric altimeter in the watch. Hence, whenever a substantial change in the barometric pressure at your location occurs, the watch may give you the different results as you are describing.

The only way is to recalibrate.

answer 2
The altimeter in your Suunto wristop computer calculates the altitude by measuring changes in the air pressure. This means that the instrument interprets changes in air pressure as changes in altitude (if "alti" profile has been selected), although air pressure changes may also be caused by changes in the weather. This is why it is always advisable to reset the reference altitude or the sea level pressure before undertaking a new activity.

As a basic rule, the altimeter will give you correct readings if the weather has not changed. Always remember to reset the reference altitude before recording with the wristop computer.

Question

Can I reset my Vector?

I just changed the battery on my Vector. Now in Altimeter mode is says -19680 feet and in the Barometer it says the temperature is -181 and 85.15 inHg. It seems to be stuck and will not do any more readings. The compass works just fine and so does the timekeeping mode.

Can I reset this watch? How can I get this fixed? Thank you.

changes in barometric pressure affect the altimeter. Fluctuations are possible. Vector is a highly inaccurate piece of equipment. should be used only as reference. If you know that you are approximately 30ft above sea level, and you walk somwhere and it reads 45 after that, all it is that you elevation has increased (most likely) slightly. If it fluctuates by as much as you are saying, it is probably just a pressure thing. were you in a sealed place ? indoor commercial fridge ? air-cabin? anything air-tight ?

Hello Peter,

Setting the sea level pressure can be used in setting the altitude measurement on the Wristop Computer if the
altitude is not known. To set the sea level pressure:

1) PRESS the [Select] button and hold in for 2 seconds. Located in Field 2, the current sea level pressure will
begin to flash.
2) PRESS the [+] button to scroll the pressure upward or
PRESS the [-] button to scroll the pressure downward.
3) At the desired pressure, PRESS the [Mode] button to accept the changes and return to the main mode.
Once the user completes this process, the altitude measurement on the Wristop Computer is correct within a
range of some ten meters or few hundred feet.

Note: Information on the current sea level pressure can be obtained through newspapers, local news and radio
weather reports, the local airport facility or through the Internet under local weather. If the user does not press any button for 1 minute in the setup mode, the display will automatically exit setup.
