The Stinger has a circular memory, meaning that once the memory is full, the earliest dives will be overwritten, so although you have made 211 dives with the Stinger only 74 remain in the memory.

Question

Is it possible to replace the elastomer strap with a metal/titanium one

My Stinger was born with a elastomer Watch band, I would like to relace it with a metal or Titanium one instead. The small Things that should hold the flip of the band in place have broken twice and I'm getting worried that my band will snap aswell.

Hi Chris!

We would like to inform you that Suunto Stinger is also compatible with a Titanium strap. Considering that Suunto Stinger is no longer in production, we would advise you to contact the service center and verify if they still have a replacement strap for this dive computer.

Question

Is there a USB PC Connection Kit available for the Stinger ? ( Please recommend an outlet in Singapore, or an on-line shop where I can purchase it )

I know the Stinger is out of production, but accessories are still available.
The standard PC Interface comes with a serial connection - which is obsolete.
I saw a comment on a forum, that there is a version of the PC Interface in USB version. Is that true ?
If so - can you recommend a purchase option ? (I am based in Singapore, but any on-line suggestion is appreciated - as long as they ship to Singapore)

Thank you !

Get yourself a Prolifics Serial to USB Converter. I use this on my Windows 7 64bit machine with Dive Manager 3.1. Downloads to DM3.1 no problem you can then export and import into DM4 if you want to view the dives in DM4. Hope this helps.

There is no USB cable available for Stinger. The USB converter and Stinger can only be used on Windows XP (32bit) and Windows 2000.

We recommend to use the dealer locator, available at the URL http://www.suuntoservice.com/dealerlocator/ in order to locate authorized retailers, importers and service centers in your area. In the case of the Suunto dive products, the dive product importers are usually able to give further information concerning the service centers and the service procedure.

Question

It has "forgotten" the air-mode

In the middle of a long dive trip it all of a sudden forgot "air" mode, and there was nothing I could do to get it back. EAN settings didn't allow any adjustments either. Now Air is mysteriously back - but how do I deal with it if it happens again?

If you have violated the decompression window your dive computer will be put in to Err mode and you can not use Air mode for 48 hours. You can read about this in the manual that you can find online if you search on "suunto stinger manual".
